Description:
Offered for sale is a Colt Officer’s Model (1st Issue) double-action revolver chambered in .38 caliber, manufactured in 1905 based on serial number. This is an early Colt target revolver built on the New Army & Navy frame, featuring a 6" barrel, adjustable rear sight, and correct period checkered wood grips.
The revolver shows honest age and use throughout, with a grey patina finish and visible wear consistent with over a century of service. Markings remain legible, including “OFFICERS MODEL COLT D.A. 38” on the barrel and correct Colt address and patent dates on top.
Mechanically, the revolver functions and fires. Lockup exhibits some play typical of age and use. The hammer has been bobbed by a previous owner. This is best described as a shooter-grade example or a solid candidate for a collector seeking an early Colt at an accessible price point.
