Description:
Russian SKS - Izhevsk Arsenal - CDI Import - 7.62x39 - Great Condition - w/ Bayonet & Kit
Izhevsk Russian SKS – Cold War Classic – CDI Import
For sale is a Russian SKS semi-automatic rifle, chambered in the iconic 7.62x39mm cartridge. Manufactured at the Izhevsk Arsenal (marked with the distinctive triangle-in-circle Izhevsk stamp) in 1954, this rifle is in great used condition and comes complete with bayonet, cleaning rod, and cleaning kit stored in the stock. Imported by CDI (C.D.I. Swan, VT).
This Russian SKS features a 20-inch blued barrel and a Russian hardwood stock that has gone through multiple refurbishment processes, as evidenced by previous serial numbers that have been X'ed out. The current matching serial number (T?293) is present on all major components except the stock, where a previous illegible serial has been X'ed out with the new serial beneath. The rifle retains its Russian blade-type bayonet with a blasted, dull finish, as well as its original cleaning rod and cleaning kit in the buttstock.
Condition Notes: This rifle is in great overall condition with typical refurbishment marks and some faded markings that are difficult to capture on camera. The bore is clean with good rifling, and the action functions smoothly. The stock shows the character of a military surplus rifle with multiple arsenal refurbishments—a honest example of a Cold War-era Russian SKS.

Izhevsk SKS Features & Russian Heritage
  • Izhevsk Arsenal (Triangle-in-Circle): One of the most desirable and less common Russian SKS variants. Izhevsk produced SKS rifles only from 1953 to 1954, making them rarer than Tula examples.
  • 1954 Production: Late-production Russian SKS from the final year of Izhevsk SKS manufacture.
  • Blade Bayonet: Early-style Russian blade bayonet (later Soviet SKS rifles used spike bayonets).
  • CDI Import: Imported by CDI (C.D.I. Swan, VT), a respected importer of military surplus firearms.
  • Complete Accessories: Includes bayonet, cleaning rod, and cleaning kit – a fully equipped military surplus rifle.
  • Refurbished Stock: The stock shows typical Soviet arsenal refurbishment marks (X'ed out serials), adding to the rifle's historical character.
Condition Details
  • Overall: Great condition with honest surplus wear and refurbishment marks.
  • Bore: Clean with good rifling.
  • Mechanical Function: Excellent – Action cycles smoothly, gas system functions correctly.
  • Metal Finish: Blued finish shows typical wear consistent with military service and storage.
  • Stock: Russian hardwood with multiple X'ed out serial numbers from refurbishment; shows handling marks, dings, and character.
  • Markings: Some markings are faded and difficult to capture on camera; triangle-in-circle Izhevsk mark and 1954 date are present on receiver.
  • Bayonet: Blade-type with dull blasted finish; locks up properly.
  • Cleaning Kit: Present in buttstock trap; functional.
  • Cleaning Rod: Present under barrel.
Collector's Notes
  • Izhevsk Rarity: Izhevsk SKS rifles are significantly less common than Tula examples, making them highly sought after by collectors.
  • Matching Serial (Mostly): All major components bear the matching T?293 serial number; the stock has a previous X'ed out number with T?293 beneath—a common refurbishment practice.
  • Complete Package: The inclusion of bayonet, cleaning rod, and cleaning kit adds value and authenticity.
  • CDI Import: CDI imports are well-regarded in the surplus community.
  • Ideal For: SKS collectors, Russian military surplus enthusiasts, and shooters seeking a piece of Cold War history.
