The Walther P22 is a compact, semi-automatic rimfire pistol chambered in .22 Long Rifle that originally revolutionized the industry as the first polymer-framed pistol of its kind. Designed for both new and experienced shooters, it features a lightweight polymer frame and a hammer-fired double-action/single-action (DA/SA) trigger system with approximately an 11-pound double-action pull and a crisper 4-pound single-action pull. Its \"Walther Signature Ergonomics\" include a comfortable, non-slip grip with interchangeable backstraps to accommodate different hand sizes, while an ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release and slide safety make it accessible for both right- and left-handed users. Often used for recreational plinking, target training, and varmint control, the P22 is well-regarded for its low recoil and user-friendly profile, which closely mimics the handling of Walther’s larger-caliber service pistols like the Walther P99.
