Very Rare BATF Cleared Model 1892 Winchester 14" Trapper Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine, .44-40 WCF, mfg. 1920 with special order 14" barrel. From my personal collection comes this very rare and desirable ‘92 Trapper with the most sought after 14" barrel. All trappers are rare but the 14" is the hardest to find! The frame is worn to silver with some light pinprick pitting and surface marring. Rapid taper 14-inch barrel shows a light plum/blue patina thinning to gray with original bluing in protected areas and more original bluing retained on the magazine tube. Buttplate has some old cold blue applied which is partially worn off. Original Gumwood stocks with correct extra short 7 ¾" forearm. The wood shows honest wear and use overall with scattered dings and surface mars. Forearm lightly scrubbed long ago with two tight cracks under the tip ahead of the barrel band. A couple very fine natural grain checks on the right side of the butt. Original post front sight and flip-up ladder rear. Clear original serial number, model designation on the upper tang, correct barrel address forward of the barrel band, caliber marking on top of breech, and Winchester proof struck on top of the frame and barrel ahead of the rear sight. Original hammer, trigger, lever, saddle ring, barrel bands, and mostly all original screws. Lever action functions properly and cycles nice and crisp. Very bright bore with sharp rifling front to back and just light frosting and superfine pinprick pitting scattered throughout. A very good bore for a trapper. BATF clearance letter included verifying this gun as a factory original 14" carbine and therefore legal to own as a collectible firearm. An awesome little gun! Ships UPS Ground fully insured.
