Description:
The Hopkins & Allen 12 gauge falling block single-shot shotgun features a 30-inch barrel fitted with a front bead sight. This antique configuration uses a single falling block action and has no visible serial number. Metal components have been painted, and the gun retains its original checkered wood Prince of Wales–style pistol grip stock and matching forearm. A factory hard rubber butt plate completes the stock assembly, and overall length measures approximately 45½ inches.
The bore condition is described as very good with a bright interior surface. The action is noted to be weak, though the lockup remains tight. Metal finish shows the painted treatment across exposed surfaces, and the wood furniture displays the factory checkering pattern. As an antique firearm, this Hopkins & Allen single-shot represents an early design utilizing a manually operated falling block mechanism rather than a break-open or bolt configuration. This shotgun is used.
Length of pull is approximately 13½ inches from trigger to butt plate. No accessories or additional components are mentioned beyond the installed front bead sight and original stock hardware. The firearm retains its complete single-shot configuration with standard barrel and furniture dimensions consistent with early Hopkins & Allen production. No box, papers, or supplemental items are included.
