Description:
Collectible Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle, this specific firearm was manufactured in 1870 according to Winchester records. The gun is chambered for .40-82 WCF ammunition and is in pretty decent condition for being over a century and a half old. Firearm would make a great addition to any collection. The 40-82 Winchester cartridge, introduced in 1885, was designed for use in the Winchester Model 1886 lever-action rifle. It featured a bottleneck case and typically propelled a 260-grain bullet at approximately 1,330 to 1,500 feet per second. The cartridge was originally loaded with black powder, but transitioned to smokeless powder in the early 1900s. This firearm is being offered by the Harrisburg Pa. Bass Pro Shops Gun Library.
