SOLD!! Shipped 5-20-26!! PRICE REDUCED!!! $2350.00 New in the box!! Smith & Wesson 24–6 Lew Horton special edition. The caliber is .44 special. It is a N frame with a 3 inch barrel. The 3 inch barrel is exclusive to the Lew Horton special edition. The model 24–6 was made from 2006 to 2012, with this gun being made most likely in the time 2008-2009. I Believe production was limited to 250. Which makes this a very rare and scare gun. This beautiful gun has never been fired!! The wood grips are perfect. The nickel finish has no blemishes no scratches no marks of any kind. Sorry it does have a very faint turn line because of people handling it before I purchased it. It comes in the correct serial number box with all the original paperwork for the gun. This is a very desirable and collectible revolver and belongs in somebody's collection. I hope to have more information on this gun on Wednesday 5/13/26 from the Smith & Wesson historical foundation.
Well I guess that I am learning stuff about Lou Horton limited edition guns. The Smith & Wesson historical foundation can only help me on older guns before 1985 or so. So that means no letter of authenticity.
After speaking with a representative from Smith & Wesson this morning, I Now know that this 24–6 was manufactured as a classic. And then Lou Horton purchased 1000 guns from Smith & Wesson the 24–6 was in nickel finish and blue finish 250 each the other 500. I believe we're in 45 long colt but I'm not for sure on that. Of course, Lew Horton distributing went out of business in 2019 so I cannot contact them, but I believe the Lew Horton advertisement in my photos tells the whole story.
I have enclosed a picture of a Lou Horton advertisement from 2006 when they made the special edition limited production 44 specials. I am also included one site that had a 24–6 in blue finish a description of The revolver.
I hope that this clears up any misconception about the limited number of production on these particular models. This is the best I can do about researching Smith & Wesson model 24–6.
Upon more research and digging I can say 100% this is a Lew Horton Limited Edition!!!
I will be sending off for a letter of authenticity from a representative of Lew Horton who has been authorized to do the research and verify the information.
This will clarify any doubts about the limited production and details of this revolver.
