Description: The Loewe Berlin 1891 Rifle is a bolt-action infantry weapon chambered in 7.65x53mm Argentine Mauser, notable for being part of Argentina's late-19th-century military modernization. This "full-length" variant features a 29.13-inch barrel and was manufactured by Ludwig Loewe & Company in Berlin between 1891 and 1896. Originally, the receiver ring featured the Argentine national crest. However, many surplus units have this crest ground off, a modification legally required by Argentina during later exports to avoid diplomatic issues. It predates the later "98" Mauser actions and lacks some modern refinements, such as a controlled-feed claw extractor or a cock-on-opening mechanism.
