"Serial no. 372179. Manufactured in October 1941 by Springfield Armory, chambered in .30-06 Springfield,24"" round barrel dated 2-53. The bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. The receiver shows scattered areas of light surface oxidation consistent with age and service use. This rifle represents a desirable pre-Pearl Harbor production example that was later rebarreled for continued post-war service, a common practice for U.S. arsenal-maintained rifles. The rifle shows honest handling wear and remains in overall very good condition. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
