The Ascent is designed as a low-impact, high performance mountain rifle, delivering Kimber‚s legendary accuracy while coming in at a mere 4 pounds 13 ounces. Each rifle is built on the reliable Model 84 action that features a mauser claw extractor for true controlled round feeding and extraction. Each Ascent rifle comes with a threaded barrel for quick and easy attachment of aftermarket muzzle devices.
The Mountain models feature a fluted barrel and pre-installed muzzle brake to aid in reduced recoil. This model is chambered in .30-06 Springfield and features a custom Subalpine camouflage pattern. The receiver uses a fixed magazine with a capacity of 4 rounds.
