Model 1842 US Military percussion Horse pistol. These large percussion 54 caliber pistols were used by the cavalry, Dragoons, infantry, artillery and navy in some cases through the civil war. The stock is in good condition with a 1 inch crack on each side and a light but visible cartouche. The lock lock is marked Middle,, Conn 1851. The manufacturer Aston is no longer visible. The lock functions on half and full cock. The lock, 85" barrel and ramrod are brown with scattered pitting. The remaining parts are brass with a light brown patina.
