Description:
This German made Kessler Schuetzen Rifle Serial Number 4460 Has a 30-inch octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore. The Barrel has been professionally Re-lined with a match compatition chamber, using a Kessler type Martini action,equipped with double set triggers.The barrel is also fitted with mounts for a Malcolm scope or rifle telescope, and adjustable sling mounts. All parts of the action are also beautifully engraved, includeing the tang and screw. It has a typical one-piece beautiful walnut stock with an angular, shadow-line cheek piece as well as the classic Kessler checkering. The stock is completed with the typical hooked butt plate. The barrel retains about 75% of its original blue finish with some browning and silver edging. The front sight is a Lyman two stage hooded. The rear sight is original with a custom made eye piece. Included is the original sight adjustment key. The action is crisp and fully functional. This is a very well made precision rifle with impeccable craftsmanship in an unusual one piece stock configuration, designed for off hand shooting. Its overall rating is very good condition, although I have not had the rifle dated, a good guess would be somewhere in the early 1900s.The rifle is priced at a reduced rate for a quick sale.
