Description:
Custom HUSQVARNA M1640 Bolt Action Rifle C&R w/WEAVER SCOPE & OUTERS CASE

Chambered in .243 Caliber with a DOUGLAS BARREL

Here Ancestry Guns presents a Custom C&R Husqvarna Model 1640 Rifle with a Weaver KV Scope with an Outers Case and a .243 chambered Douglas barrel, made circa 1967. Long before they were making chainsaws and lawnmowers, Husqvarna was manufacturing firearms. During the first half of the 20th century, they focused on making Mauser 96 based rifles, which was a slimmer precursor to the famous Mauser 98. The Husqvarna 1640 is built on is essentially a small-ring Mauser 98. The Husqvarna 1640 was a controlled round feed design with a 5 round drop floorplate magazine. The rifles came standard with iron sights, and a two-position slide safety which locks the bolt.

One of the best aspects of the Husqvarna 1640 is the action. The controlled round feed is known for smoothly feeding and extracting smoothly with every shot. In addition to the smooth operation, like all Mauser 98 based designs, the Husqvarna Model 1640 has a very safe operating system with good gas venting and a third safety lug. Overall, the Husqvarna Model 1640 is a rifle that has held up well over the years. These rifles are affordable and will serve as well today as they did 60 years ago.

Overall condition is fine in its current configuration. Excellent action. Bright, shiny bore with sharp rifling. Very fine stock. Clear sight picture and reticle.
