LOP 13 7/16" Serial Number: NSN Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this Rolling Block Rifle chambered in 7mm Mauser produced by Remington. The Remington Rolling Block was a wildly successful breech-loading rifle and saw production from the mid-19th century into the early 20th century by Remington. These rifles have been chambered in a wide variety of cartages from 12.17x42mm and 11.15x58mmR to .30-40 Krag and 7mm Mauser, as such has been adopted by a similar breath of countries. The rifle was first adopted by United Kingdoms of Sweden and Norway in 1867 and was followed by Denmark in 1867. The UK purchased rolling block rifles for Egypt during the Mahdist War and issued roughly 4,000 chambered in 7mm Mauser to the Royal Navy’s minesweepers during WW1. The rolling block was also of the two premier buffalo hunting rifles in the mid to late 1800s. This example has lost its original factory finishes by cleaning, it has not been refinished. The 30” barrel retains 98% original finish which is going to a pleasant patina and has an 8/10 bore with strong rifling. Overall, the rifle is in good working mechanical condition and would make a great addition to your collection. Have a look at the detailed specifications and pictures below. Thanks for looking!
