Description: The Winchester Model 71 was a lever-action rifle introduced in 1935 and discontinued in 1958. The Model 71 was conceived as a replacement for both the Model 1886 and Model 1895 as a complement to the Winchester Model 70 bolt-action rifle. The rifle was expensive, and less costly lever action rifles were available. The Winchester Model 71 still has a loyal following for what is arguably "the finest big bore lever gun that has ever been" as well as being used as a strong and solid platform for various 'wildcat' projects. This example is a Nonneman Custom and is chambered in .475 Turnbull. A great option for a collectable Winchester lever action. Finish is very good on this rifle. .475 Turnbull SOLD Metal Condition: good Wood Condition: good Bore Condition: bright Barrels: 25.5" octagon barrel Stock Dimensions: 13.5 Fore End: checkered wood Butt Pad: metal Weight: 8 lb - 6 oz Sights: "factory front sight, Redfield rear target sight Item Location: La Vista, NE |
