"NSN. Manufactured in 1942 by Guide Lamp Division,chambered in .45 ACP,4"" smoothbore barrel.The bore is in good condition. The FP-45 “Liberator" was a simple, single-shot pistol designed for clandestine distribution to resistance forces during WWII, most notably intended for use by occupied populations such as the French Resistance. Though over one million were produced, relatively few survive today, making original examples increasingly scarce. The metal has aged to a smooth grey patina consistent with its utilitarian construction. The action is mechanically sound and functions correctly.
