Description:
This is a custom contemporary built New Hampshire flintlock .50 caliber rifle featuring a custom incised carved tiger stripe curly maple stock, sliding patchbox and pewter forearm tip. It measures 59 ½ inches overall with a 39 ¾ inch octagon swamped barrel with an excellent bore and has a full length brass tipped ramrod. It is sighted with sporting rear and blade front sights and weighs in at 8lbs. In excellent condition the barrel, lock and furniture are all beautifully browned. The sliding patch box is expertly fit and has a very well executed brass star burst and releases with a well tuned button. The lock functions properly with strong springs holding at half and full cock releasing with a very smooth trigger pull. It comes with a beautifully carved custom powder horn by the same maker. An expertly built rifle that would be fun to shoot, will look fantastic on the wall and should become a real family heirloom. Antique
