Description:
This 3 band Colt Special Model 1861 musket was manufactured by Colt Blackpowder Arms of Brooklyn, NY. First date of production for the three band musket was 1996. I believe they were only made for two years. Colt Blackpowder Arms was formed in 1994. They made percussion arms under license from Colt. However, Colt did not oversee the production of these guns. This is why these "3rd Gen" models will not letter from Colt. This particular example is in excellent, near new condition, with only some minor scratches on stock (see photos). Appears unfired. The bright polished barrel has some minor age freckling typical of these finishes. The bore in the 40" barrel is mirror bright. Some oil came out on patch. Breech shows no residue. Getting harder to find in this condition. $975 + Shipping.
