Garand at the Springfield Armory in the 1920s and 30s, the M1 Garand was officially adopted in 1936 as the first standard-issue semi-automatic rifle, revolutionizing infantry firepower. Known for its robustness and 8-round \"ping,\" over 4 million were produced by Springfield Armory during WWII, hailed by Gen. Patton as \"the greatest battle implement ever devised.
Based on the serial number research we were able to do, this firearm was produced in Jan. 1945.
