Description:
The Hopkins & Allen Red Cloud No. 1 is an antique single-action spur trigger revolver chambered in .22 Short. It features a seven-shot cylinder and a fixed sight arrangement. The barrel measures approximately 2.25 inches. The revolver has a nickel finish and is fitted with brown wood bird’s head grips. Serial number 4266 is present on the frame. This piece represents an early small-frame rimfire revolver design produced by Hopkins & Allen during the late 19th century.
The revolver is used and shows age-related wear consistent with its period of manufacture. The right-side grip panel is chipped. The mechanical condition is poor, as the cylinder does not rotate when the action is operated. The bore is described as fair, indicating visible wear or fouling. The finish shows typical patina and handling marks expected of an antique firearm of this type. No refinishing or modern alterations are noted.
