Offered for sale this week is very nice example of a Colt Detective Special made in 1951. This was a special order pistol. I have seen multiple engraved Colts shipped to this company. They were a police supply company and these guns were likely gifts to politicians and high ranking LE officers. This pistol is factory dual tone nickel and was ordered with pearl grips. It is very hard to find Colts that actually letter with special grips. Good mechanics and a minty bore. The rear of the aluminum shroud has a small crack in it as seen in the pictures. No other issues with this one.
