Description:
The Smith & Wesson Model 48-2, known as the K-22 M.R.F. Masterpiece, is the rimfire magnum counterpart to the famous Model 17. Produced during the "golden era" of Smith & Wesson manufacturing, the -2 engineering change (1961–1967) is highly sought after by collectors for its high-quality construction and classic features. As a -2 model, it features a pinned barrel and recessed cylinder chambers where the cartridge rims sit flush with the cylinder face. Masterpiece Upgrades features a micrometer-adjustable rear sight and a pinned Patridge front sight for precise target work. Unlike the Model 17 (.22 LR), the Model 48 was specifically engineered with a slightly larger bore (.224" vs .222") to accommodate the jacketed bullets of the .22 Magnum. .22 MRF
