REDUCED - MAKE AN OFFER! Charles Osborne 16 bore SLE. 28" barrels. Most Osborne SLE guns were built to a very high standard and this is no exception as noted by the best-gun engraving and disc-set strikers. Stock dimensions: 14-11/16" LOP to checkered butt (all wood), 1-3/8" DAC and 2-1/4" DAH. Weight is 6 lbs. 4.5 oz. Excellent wall thicknesses: R = .029 and L = .025 Chokes: R = IC and L = F. It balances nicely and feels great between the hands (for me anyway).
Recently the Ozzy was stripped and cleaned while having a new ejector spring made and installed.
The bad: both barrels are quite pitted as noted by the gunsmith providing the above work. I have inquired with qualifed gunsmiths in the U.K. and U.S. and the collective opinion is that with the wall thicknesses, the gun would be a candidate for honing if one wanted to have that done. There are various sources here in the U.S. for that (at a reasonable cost/tube).
I chose not to do that as the gun functions as expected mechanically. I have shot over 200 rounds through it at birds and clays with no issues other than the occasional miss (operator error).
Pricing reflects the barrel pitting while providing room to still own this at a good value should one choose to hone the barrels.
