This Colt Lightning Magazine Rifle, chambered in .38-40 WCF, is a slide-action rifle with a 25.5-inch octagonal barrel, weighing 7 3/4 pounds. It has an internal capacity of 8 and, based on the serial number, was manufactured in 1894. The rifle is in poor condition; however, the Colt logo remains present on the left-hand side of the receiver, though faint, and can be seen in the photos. The Colt Lightning remains a highly sought-after and historically significant platform, despite the condition of this firearm, it does offer an accessible entry point for collectors looking to acquire a classic piece of late 19th-century American firearm history.
