Offered here is a historically significant 1st Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver,
documented by an included Colt Archive Letter. Manufactured in 1905, this revolver
features the classic 7 1/2" barrel and is chambered in the versatile .32/20 caliber—a
favorite for those carrying companion rifles of the same chambering.
This specific Colt holds exceptional provenance, having been shipped on March 15, 1905,
to the Pacific Hardware & Steel Company in San Francisco, California.
This shipment occurred just over a year prior to the devastating 1906 Earthquake,
making it a rare survivor of a pivotal era in West Coast history.
Archive Letter Details: Issued August 25, 2006, and signed by Colt Historian
Kathleen J. Hoyt. The letter confirms this was a 2-gun shipment, adding a
level of rarity to the specific configuration and destination.
The grips are not original to the firearm but are original Colt grips taken from a first generation model manufactured in 1926.
