This Arisaka Type 99 is an original World War II Japanese service rifle chambered in 7.7×58mm Arisaka and retains its intact Imperial chrysanthemum (“mum") on the receiver — a highly desirable feature for collectors.
The action operates smoothly, the bore shows solid rifling, and the rifle remains in very good overall condition for its age. Metal finish shows honest service wear consistent with a wartime firearm, and the wood stock remains solid with typical handling marks.
The Type 99 features a 5-round internal magazine loaded via stripper clips, robust bolt action, and classic wartime Japanese military design. Rifles with intact mums were typically not surrendered in the traditional manner, making them more collectible than ground or defaced examples.
