Colt 1911A1 US Military .45 ACP Blue Finish From 1940 All Original and Nice! Serial 731830 and was made at Colt in the USA about 1940. The carbonia Blue finish is original. Slide has matching numbers. Barrel is original small G with correct P proof and matching wear to the gun. The Magazine is original as well. Bore is good with some corrosion. Action is smooth and tight. No import or rebuild marks. It is as issued in 1940. The small ring escutcheon hollow back plastic grips are correct for this gun in this serial range. It is marled AA for August Arsenal. So it was what collectors call a "pass through". AA did not rebuild or refinsh it. They just stamped AA on it to show they inspected and approved it as is, no rework was needed. From my own collection of many years. Interesting variation that is seldom seen.
