The firearm is configured as a percussion ignition smoothbore, typical of mid-19th century sporting guns. The barrel transitions from an octagonal breech section to a round forward section, fitted with a front sight. The half-stock design exposes the forward portion of the barrel, with the wood terminating near the midpoint of its length. The stock is constructed of smooth wood and includes a bottom cap box integrated into the butt area. A ramrod is housed beneath the barrel in a traditional channel. The percussion lock mechanism is intact, and the firearm is described as fully functional. This fowler is used and displays the characteristics of an antique black powder sporting arm designed for small game or general field use during its period of manufacture. Included with the piece are the original wooden half stock, metal fittings, and ramrod. The firearm retains its percussion lock assembly and front sight components. No additional accessories or packaging are noted. The configuration and features are consistent with early American or European fowling pieces chambered in 28 gauge, built for black powder operation and exhibiting craftsmanship indicative of the pre-cartridge era.
