Here Ancestry Guns presents a High Standard “Model B” Semi-Automatic Pistol, made circa 1940 in New Haven, Connecticut. The High Standard Mfg. Co. was officially founded in 1926 and in 1932 it moved to a bigger plant in Hamden, Conn., where production began. The Model B is a .22 long rifle rimfire, semi-automatic pistol. The pistol features a blued 6-3/4 inch barrel, frame, and action with brown hard rubber checkered grips.
High Standard’s production over the years has been vast and has a reputation for both reliability and accuracy. Over time, it mainly produced handguns, including plinkers, target guns, long and short barrels, as well as serious competition pieces. If you’ve ever heard the term “space gun”, odds are good that they were talking about High Standard.
The overall condition is fine. Original finish. Excellent action. Bright bore with strong rifling. Fine grips. Markings are sharp.
