Description:
Serial #42, .32 S&W Long, 4 ¼ inch round pinned barrel with a very good bore showing light roughness and good rifling. This is a Second Model .32 Hand Ejector manufactured by Smith & Wesson circa 1904-06 with a factory return / rework date of 1/22 stamped on the grip frame. This revolver was featured as part of the excellent article published by Gaston Comeau, Ed Buffaloe and Craid Smith in their article "The 1903 Smith & Wesson .32 Hand Ejector (the Second Model .32 Hand Ejector) a Detailed Investigation." The barrel, frame and cylinder retain about 90-95% bright factory re-nickel with scattered flaking. The trigger and hammer show very muted traces of original case-colors. The mother-of-pearl grips rate very fine to about excellent with great color and fit showing some minor surface nicks on the left stock. The action functions properly with a tight lock up. An excellent example of the rugged revolvers with a scarce very low serial number. FFL or C&R
