Description:
The Winchester Model 52 is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle and fitted with a 28-inch heavy bull barrel. This rimfire rifle was manufactured in 1956 and utilizes a five-round detachable magazine. The metal surfaces carry a blued finish, and the rifle is configured with a smooth wood pistol-grip stock capped by a checkered metal buttplate. Factory open sights have been removed, and Browning scope bases are installed for optical mounting.
Machining and fit are consistent with the postwar production of the Model 52 line, known for its precision-oriented configuration. The trigger pull is described as extremely light, and the bore condition is excellent, showing bright surfaces and well-defined rifling. The serial number is 82427C, corresponding to the mid-1950s production period. This rifle is classified as Curio & Relic eligible and retains approximately 90 percent of its original finish, with some minor handling marks noted on the metal and stock surfaces. The action cycles smoothly through its bolt operation, and the overall construction reflects Winchester’s mid-century craftsmanship.
This rifle includes the installed Browning scope bases and the original checkered metal buttplate. No factory iron sights are present. The configuration remains consistent with a target or precision-style setup typical of the Model 52’s design during this era. This Winchester 52 is used and retains its original 1956 production features in functional and collectible form.
