Description:
Pre-owned Springfield U.S. Rifle M1 Garand. This semi-automatic, gas-operated rifle served as the standard-issue service rifle for the U.S. military from 1936 to 1957. Designed by John C. Garand, it was famously called "the greatest battle implement ever devised" by General George S. Patton. This rifle uses an eight-round en-bloc clip that is inserted into the top of the internal magazine. This rifle was manufactured in 1945 and was among the last produced before Springfield Armory halted production in October 1945 following the end of the war. This M1 is in very good condition. The metal barrel and receiver have very minimal wear or marks. The wood stock had various scratches, gouges, and marks but nothing major and no major damage.
