Description:
"Serial no. 413955. Manufactured circa December 1941 by Springfield Armory, chambered in .30-06 Springfield,24"" round barrel marked “S-A-12 50." The bore is bright and shiny with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. The bolt is marked “D28287-2SA/J8," and the receiver is stamped “REP4D/D28291-14 SA." The operating rod has been cut and is marked “D35382-9 SA," while the trigger guard is correctly Springfield Armory marked. The barrel reflects a later post-war replacement, consistent with arsenal maintenance and continued service use. The stock shows honest handling impressions and retains an “S.A./J.I.C." cartouche along with the ordnance crossed cannons. This rifle represents an early WWII production Garand that saw continued use and refurbishment during its service life. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
