Description:
The Ansley Manufacturing Co. Fox 12-gauge side-by-side shotgun uses a break-action design with 2¾-inch chambers and a two-round capacity. It is equipped with 28-inch blued barrels featuring a vent rib and a full/modified choke configuration. The frame shows case coloring with engraved detailing. The shotgun has a checkered wood stock in a capped pistol grip style and a beavertail forearm, complemented by a black Pachmayr hard rubber recoil pad. Overall length is approximately 44¼ inches, and the length of pull measures about 14¼ inches. Manufacture dates to the early 1900s.
The shotgun is used and retains period features consistent with early Fox production. The break-action mechanism includes working extractors, and the bores are described as bright with a mirror-like finish. Matching serial number 27421 is present on all major components. The combination of full and modified choke barrels and vent rib construction reflects a configuration typical for sporting use in that era. Case-colored and engraved metal surfaces show the craftsmanship associated with Ansley Manufacturing Co. during its early operations.
Included is the complete firearm as configured, with wood furniture, recoil pad, and extractors. No additional accessories, tools, or packaging are specified.
