33304- COLT U.S. MODEL 1911 SEMI-AUTOMATIC .45 ACP CALIBER PISTOL SERIAL NUMBER 72XXX. Early and desirable pre-WW1 year of production in 1914. All original and matching with no post production replaced parts including the magazine and the original high polish blued finish only seen on these early production Model 1911's. Left side of frame stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Right side of slide stamped "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY" and right side with patent dates and addressed "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.". Original diamond checkered walnut grips. Left rear of slide stamped with Colt's "RAMPANT COLT" logo. Magazine with correct lanyard ring at base and bright finish case hardened top section seen only on the earliest Model 1911's. Excellent condition overall with nearly all the original blue with only slight wear. Excellent plus grips with the original finish and crisp original checkering, Letter "S" carved neatly at base of left flat. Tight working order and bright bore with crisp rifling. Superior and desirable early U.S. Army issue Colt Model 1911. $4500.
