Description:
The Carl Gustafs Model 1896 is a bolt-action rifle chambered in 6.5x55 Swedish. This rifle features a 30-inch barrel and a straight bolt handle typical of the M96 configuration. It carries a military-style finish and is dated 1917, reflecting manufacture during Swedish military service production at the Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori. The receiver and barrel are configured for the 6.5x55mm cartridge, known for its use in early 20th-century Scandinavian service rifles.

The rifle uses a smooth wood stock with finger grooves along the forearm and a straight grip profile. Metal components retain the traditional blued military finish, and the butt is fitted with the original steel plate. The action is the standard Mauser-type turn-bolt design used on the Swedish M96 series. The bore condition is described as good, showing visible shine and defined rifling. Markings include an import stamp from Century Arms International. This rifle is identified as a Curio & Relic–eligible firearm.

Included features are the adjustable rear military sight and fixed front blade sight, consistent with the original service configuration. No additional accessories or packaging are specified. The rifle is used and shows characteristics consistent with its age and military issue. Overall, it retains the configuration and markings expected of a 1917 Carl Gustafs M96 chambered in 6.5x55 Swedish.
