This Snub-Nose Smith & Wesson Model 37 DA/SA Chief‚s Special Airweight is a J-frame revolver chambered in .38 Special. It features a pinned 1.875-inch carbon-steel barrel, an aluminum-alloy Airweight frame with black anodized finish, and a 5-shot fluted cylinder. The Model 37 combines an alloy Airweight frame with carbon-steel barrel and cylinder, delivering the classic J-frame profile in a micro-size, 5-shot package. The barrel is the desirable pinned type, paired with a blued carbon-steel fluted cylinder and a black anodized frame for a traditional two-tone black/blue appearance. Firearm does not come with a case.
Controls and operating parts retain period-correct details: a color-casehardened exposed hammer with a checkered spur and a smooth, narrow, color-casehardened trigger. The revolver operates in DA/SA and uses an unshrouded, knurled ejector rod consistent with the era.
Sighting is straightforward and durable, with a fixed square-notch rear in the topstrap and an integral serrated ramp front sight. Anti-glare serrations on the topstrap and front ramp aid sight definition under varied lighting.
Grips are original-style round-butt, checkered walnut service stocks with S&W medallions, providing a secure hold while maintaining the revolver‚s compact profile. Frame markings include the classic \"Marcas Registradas\" legend, and a J-prefix serial on the butt aligns this example with 1970-1980 production. An assembly number is stamped on the yoke.
