Description:
Up for sale is a mint Verney-Carron Azur Safari Round Body chambered in 470 Nitro Express. This is an "as new" rifle that looks pristine with very few handling marks. It has 24 inch barrels with a quarter rib and one standing sight. The firearm has a super strong triple lug construction and has a coin-finished boxlock action with rose and scroll hand engraving. This is a double trigger ejector model. It also has a full tang terminating to an engraved steel pistol grip cap. Nicely figured European walnut stock with shadowline cheekpiece. It has a beaver tail forend with an Anson style release button. This gun is in mint original condition showing little if any use. This is a safari ready rifle from the famed Verney-Carron Atelier made when Jerome Rifby was running the shop. (Now at double rifle manufacturer Rigby). Comes is a Verney-Carron Poly Case with snap caps included.
A beautiful gun and investment grade for sure. A favorite among PH's as it's known for is superior reliabilty in the field. I am selling to free up funds and space for a 600 Nitro I was able to acquire. I already have a 500 Nitro Verney-Carron in this model so a 470 is unecessary at this point. I have never fired this gun under my ownership and was purchased mainly to collect.
