Description:
This is an interesting US Artillery Shell Trench Art Container made of the bottom parts of two shell. The lid is 3 1/8" x 1 ¼" and fits over the bottom. The top surface has be sanded and polished with no marking left. The bottom is 2 ¾" deep and the diameter is slightly less the lid. Most of the marking are missing on the bottom also, but you can see "N.G.F." for Naval Gun Factory and an anchor. The two parts fit snugly, when together and required precise machining. Weighs 2lbs 3oz and will make a nice keep sake vault. ;
