It features a seven-shot cylinder and a 2.375-inch octagonal barrel. This compact revolver design dates to the early production period of H&R, around 1874, and represents one of the company’s first small-frame metallic cartridge handguns. The frame, barrel, and cylinder carry a nickel finish typical of the era, combined with checkered plastic grips that were common on late-19th-century pocket revolvers. This Aetna No. 1 is used. The nickel finish shows light wear and surface scratches consistent with age and handling, while the grips display minor wear to the checkering but remain intact. The bore condition is described as good, mostly clean with defined rifling and some light pitting visible. Mechanical operation is noted as functional, with the single-action mechanism cycling properly. All markings and design features correspond to early H&R manufacture. Included are the revolver itself with its original seven-shot cylinder and fixed sights. No additional accessories or packaging are specified. The firearm’s compact form, spur trigger configuration, and early production date identify it as a representative example of Harrington & Richardson’s initial efforts in small-caliber revolver manufacture during the 1870s.
