"Serial number 107516. Made in 1884. 44-40 caliber with a 7.5" barrel. This is a very sharp black powder frame gun in very fine condition. The barrel has approximately 15% of the original blue finish in protected areas. Bright case colors still remain on the frame. The grips are very good. They have an extra coat of varnish. Accompanying this gun is a letter from Colt collector John Irwin. He says in his letter that he did a record request on this gun, but did not get a Factory letter since there was not an unusual shipping destination. He says the records requst confirmed the configuration and that it was shipped to J. P> Moore & Sons in New York. This gun was a 13 gun shipment.
