The barrel has been cleaned and there is only trace amounts of blue in the protected areas. The case colors are bright and there is approximately 70% of the original blue on the cylinder. The grips are excellent with 90% of the original varnish. The screws still have their original fire blue. The barre has some pitting. The previous owner was told this was blood pitting from a suicide by a corrupt judge who had just been caught. Unfortunately, there is no documentation to this. Accompanying this gun is a factory letter. This gun matches the features in the letter of being in 45 LC caliber with a 7.5" barrel and blue finish. It was shipped to B. Kittredge and Company on October 30th 1875 in a 45 gun shipment. Kittredge was a major Colt distributor and the guns sold to them are often associated as going West. Very fine Colt Single Action Army! SOLD Antique: Yes |
