Description: Offered here is an exceptionally beautiful Browning Citori Grade VI Superlight chambered in 28 gauge, a highly desirable and refined upland configuration featuring exquisite factory engraving by famed Browning engraver M. Nozaki, whose signature appears on the receiver. Built in 1987 and manufactured in Japan during the peak era of Browning Citori production, this shotgun combines elegant styling, remarkable balance, and outstanding craftsmanship in a package that is becoming increasingly difficult to find in this level of condition and configuration. This Grade VI Superlight features 26” barrels with 2 3/4” chambers, fixed Improved Cylinder and Modified chokes, a ventilated rib, and a single brass front bead. The gun is equipped with a single selective trigger and automatic ejectors. One of the defining features of this shotgun is its highly desirable English straight grip stock paired with exceptionally figured walnut. The wood displays stunning marble and feather figure throughout the buttstock and forend, elevating this gun far above the average production Grade VI Citori. The receiver is beautifully engraved with detailed flowing scrollwork accented by gold inlaid game scenes including flushing pheasants, ducks, and upland birds. The engraving coverage and execution are outstanding, and M. Nozaki’s signature adds additional collector appeal to an already desirable Browning configuration. The shotgun balances beautifully and weighs 6 lbs. 14 oz., making it a lively yet stable field gun equally suited for upland hunting or fine collection. Dimensions are as follows: Length of Pull: 14 1/4” Drop at Heel: 2 5/16” Drop at Comb: 1 1/2” Cast Off: 1/8” Overall condition remains exceptional, with excellent original finishes, sharp checkering, crisp engraving, and beautifully preserved wood throughout. The barrels retain strong original blue, and the shotgun presents as a very well cared for example. Highly figured English stocked Grade VI Superlight 28 gauge Citoris are seldom encountered on today’s market, particularly examples signed by M. Nozaki with wood of this quality and visual appeal.
