Description: The De Lisle commando carbine was a British firearm used during World War II that was designed with an integrated suppressor. The .45ACP carbine design was conceived at Dagenham (the Essex home of the Ford Motor Company) by William G. De Lisle and Sir Malcolm Campbell (famous World Land and Water Speed record contender and holder, and father of Sir Donald Campbell) specifically for covert operations, such as those organized by the British Special Operations Executive (SOE). This example is a replica of the third prototype, using the .45 ACP cartridge. The suppressor on this one is fake and there are no holes in the barrel leading into the can. It's built off an Enfield frame marked "B.S.A.C / 1905 / SHT LE / 1***" frame. The conversion consisted of replacing the original 303 barrel with an 18.5" bell-mouthed modified .45 ACP Thompson submachine gun barrel and modification of the magazine floor plate to accommodate a .45 auto 1911 magazine. The back of the magazine has a special spine added that locates in the groove at the rear of the .303 magazine-well. The rear tangent sight is missing a spring or something as there is nothing holding it down "see pictures". This unique and rare Enfield remains in good + surplus condition and comes with a single magazine. .45 ACP SOLD Chambers: 7+1 bolt action. Metal Condition: Good + surplus condition.
