Description:
Up for sale is a 1982 Ruger Mini-14, 183-Series, chambered in .223 Remington. This is an original configuration rifle from the early production years of the Mini-14 and remains an amazing, well-preserved example.
The 183-series rifles were produced during the early 1980s, a period when the Mini-14 was rapidly gaining popularity in the American market. Designed by Bill Ruger and L. James Sullivan, the Mini-14 drew inspiration from the M1 Garand and M14-style action, utilizing a rugged fixed-piston gas system and traditional rifle styling. It offered shooters a reliable semi-automatic platform in .223 Remington with classic lines and wood-stock appeal.
This rifle remains in excellent original condition with strong overall presence and classic early Mini-14 character. These early 180-series and 181–186 series rifles are increasingly sought after by collectors, especially in clean, unmodified form.
The 183-series represents the evolution of Ruger’s early Mini production before later design updates and configuration changes. Original rifles from this era have a distinctive look and feel that later production guns simply do not replicate.
This is a very cool, original early Mini-14—a great piece for a Ruger collection, a nostalgic addition for 1980s-era enthusiasts, or a solid, reliable shooter.
