Offered here is a genuine pre-war Browning Auto-5 16 gauge, manufactured by Fabrique Nationale in Herstal, Belgium and dating to late 1927 production based on serial number and proof marks. This is an early FN production A5, representing the original John Browning long-recoil design during its classic pre-WWII manufacturing period. These Belgian guns are well known for their machining quality and durability, and remain highly sought after by shooters and collectors alike. This example features the correct FN Herstal receiver rollmark: "Fabrique Nationale D'Armes de Guerre – Herstal Belgique" and retains original Belgian proof marks, confirming correct period manufacture.
