"Serial no. Y5207. Manufactured November 1946 at Royal Ordnance Factory Fazakerley,chambered in .303 British,20.5"" round barrel. The bore is excellent with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. The carbine remains in overall excellent condition with matching serial numbers throughout, including the magazine. The No.5 Mk.I, commonly known as the “Jungle Carbine," was developed as a lighter and handier variant of the Lee-Enfield for use in jungle and airborne operations during the latter stages of WWII. Fazakerley-produced rifles are among the final military production examples of the pattern. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly. The carbine is accompanied by its bayonet.
