Up for is a genuine Italian military surplus Beretta Model 84BB "Cheetah" chambered in .380 ACP (9mm Short/Kurz), directly issued to the Guardia di Finanza (G.F.) - Italy's elite militarized law enforcement corps operating under the Ministry of Economy and Finance since 1774. These pistols were not commercially sold; they were purpose-built for Italian government issue and have only recently become available to U.S. collectors following their official decommission and return to Beretta.

THE G.F. HERITAGE
The "G.F." stamp beneath the serial number is the defining mark of this pistol's service life. The Guardia di Finanza carries out customs enforcement, financial crime investigation, anti-smuggling operations, and coastal patrol - a corps with over 250 years of Italian national service history. Officers carrying this pistol were the front line against organized financial crime, border contraband, and tax fraud at the highest levels of Italian enforcement. When these pistols were retired, they were returned directly to Beretta in partial exchange for updated service weapons, then submitted to the Italian National Proof House for civilian re-proofing before U.S. importation - exactly as documented on this example with the "IT25" proof mark (re-proofed 2025).
The serial number format "Y55086Y" (Y-prefix and Y-suffix) is exclusive to G.F.-purchased Berettas and is not found on any commercial production guns - a detail well-documented by Beretta collectors. This alone confirms authenticity beyond any doubt.
