Description:
Serial #482437, .30-06, 24" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This rifle has a 10-43 dated, "SC"-marked barrel, and retains 90-92% of the original parkerized finish on the barrel and receiver, with silvering at the muzzle, as well as on some of the high edges and projections. There is additional fading along the bearing surfaces of the Du-Lite blue finished bolt, and some mild brown freckling has started to form on some of the metal. The rifle has visible Ordnance Dept. crossed cannons and "FJA" inspection stamp and later "RIA / FK (in box)" arsenal rebuild mark. The stamps are slightly soft, but still clear and legible. Numerous small handling marks are scattered about the reapplied military oil finish, and the stock compartment contains an original plastic oiler with cleaning rod tips. Additionally, a period leather sling is fitted that is well-used but still fully serviceable. This is a fine plus example of an armory refurbished ‘03-A3 overall, made by Smith-Corona. FFL or C&R;
