The Beretta 96 Brigadier Border Marshal is a rare, highly collectible semi-automatic duty pistol chambered in .40 S&W. Released in late 1999 as a limited commercial run, it was designed to mirror the exact specifications of the service pistols contract-built for the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) and Border Patrol. It uniquely blends a heavy-duty slide with a shortened barrel profile, creating a uniquely balanced configuration within Beretta's 90-series lineage. Equipped with a beefed-up, widened slide profile. The extra steel adds mass near the locking block area to safely absorb the snappy pressure of the .40 S&W cartridge and noticeably lower muzzle flip. .40 S&W
